Stage Design and Concert Visuals

We design show-ready stages and concert visuals that look incredible and run reliably. From festival headliners to theater residencies and brand showcases, we handle stage/scenic concepting, LED/projection layouts, real-time and pre-rendered content, and media-server programming—synced to lighting, timecode, and the band.

What We Deliver

  • Stage & Scenic Concept — CAD overlays, sightlines, LED/projection placement, rigging notes

  • Visual Identity & Content — real-time (TouchDesigner/Unreal) and pre-rendered motion packs

  • Media-Server Programming — disguise/Resolume/Hippotizer, pixel maps, routing, FOH workflows

  • Sync & Show Control — SMPTE/LTC, MTC, MIDI, OSC, DMX/Art-Net, timecode/console triggers

  • Touring Packaging — racks, line schedules, patch sheets, show book, trucking footprint

  • On-Site Direction/Training — rehearsals, operator handoff, run-of-show support

Budget & Timeline (typical starting ranges)

  • Visuals + Playback (one-off)$20k–$60k · 2–4 weeks

  • Stage Design Concept Pack$15k–$40k · 1–3 weeks

  • Full Touring Package (stage/LED design, content, servers, control) — $120k–$400k+ · 6–12+ weeks

Drivers: LED area/pitch, projection brightness, content volume, custom scenic, rehearsal days, venue/union requirements, redundancy.

Process {#process}

  • Discovery & Goals → artist/brand objectives, venues, schedule

  • Stage & LED/Projection Layout → sightlines, pixel maps, throws, rigging/power/network

  • Look-Dev & Storyboards → styleframes, motion tests, real-time prototypes

  • Content Production → real-time looks or render queue with naming/versioning

  • Server Programming & Sync → mapping, routing, SMPTE/MIDI/console cues, safety checks

  • Rehearsals & Show Book → change log, presets, operator notes
    On-Site Direction & Ops → calibration, failover, training, support

Tech Notes (plain-English) {#tech}

  • LED pitch vs. audience distance: rule of thumb—pitch in mm ≈ comfy viewing distance in meters.

  • Projection brightness: target ~50–80 lux on surface; ambient light and size set lumens and lensing.

  • Redundancy: main/backup servers via matrix; backup LTC; tested failover paths.

  • Safety & logistics: rigging sign-offs, egress, cable management, heat/power budgets, strike speed.

FAQs

Can you work with our LD and PM?
Yes. We integrate with lighting directors, production managers, rental houses, and union crews with clear scopes and SLAs.

Do you supply hardware?
We can design/spec and work through your preferred vendors—or provide turnkey via partners, including servers, LED, and projection.

Timecode or live-triggered?
Both. We support SMPTE/LTC, MTC, MIDI/OSC, and console triggers with safe fallback modes if timecode drops.

How do rehearsals work?
Previs and offline builds first; then on-site programming, notes tracking, and rapid iterations. We leave a show book and operator presets.

What about touring support?
We deliver racks/patch, spares list, and documentation; train ops; and offer remote monitoring and update windows between dates.
